WHO/WHAT:

Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha – Hawaii Dazaifu Tenmangu will offer its annual Chinowa Blessing for People & Pets to celebrate all creatures. Leashed or caged pets and people of all faiths are welcome for a complimentary blessing steeped in ancient tradition.

Pets are spiritual creatures that nurture us unconditionally. The special blessing creates a day of love and celebration honoring our faithful friends and loyal companions. You can bring a stuffed toy animal to represent a pet.

WHEN/WHERE:

Sunday, June 5, at the temple, located at 1239 Olomea St.

COST:

Free. Reservations are NOT required. Parking is available along the street or at Damien School (1401 Houghtailing St.) A free shuttle is available. However, pets are not allowed on the shuttle. Please drop off your pet with a human companion at the shrine first, and have the driver park at Damien School. For more information, call (808) 841-4755.
